This time I'm writing about the "health" category by way of an actual visit. Episode ACE is a shop in Kobe covering the Fukuhara Yanagisuji area. It runs 7:00–23:30, and the 60-minute course runs ¥22,000.
This is one of Kansai's premier pleasure districts, centered on Motomachi and Sannomiya. Here's hoping it helps anyone scouting a health shop in the area.
From the door to walking out
Twenty minutes after I hung up, the bell rang. I opened the door to a "Sorry to keep you waiting." A touch lower in tone than on the phone, settled. You can tell from the first words — that's the voice of someone with experience.
After I showed her in, she scanned the room without a word. The bathroom location, the bed layout, where the outlets were. Taking it all in without speaking. Even the way she set her bag down was free of wasted motion, holding the right distance while waiting for my next words. The lead-in — "Why don't you shower first" — came naturally. A girl who suggests it before you say it knows how to manage the flow.
When I came back from checking out the bathroom, the angle of the room's lighting had changed. She'd adjusted it without saying anything. Few people can pull off that kind of attention to detail silently. That's when I called it for the night — this was a "hit."
The 60-minute course shifted in mood between the first and second halves. The first half is closer to feeling each other out. The girl watches your reactions, gauging what you're after. The more finely a girl observes, the more the back half changes. Tonight's girl observed carefully. She logged the moments I reacted to and circled back to them in the second half. You could feel the intent to move for this particular person, not to run a manual. That kind of "designed time" leaves a different afterglow once it's over.
Before leaving, while tidying up, she said, "I'd love to, if there's a next time." A stock line, but the delivery wasn't stock — it came after a slight pause, and that pause felt natural. Even while I put my shoes on, there was no unnecessary chatter. That "quiet exit" also speaks to the quality of the girl. When I stepped off the elevator and out into the street, the Kobe night air was cold. My head was quiet. Nothing about work, nothing about tomorrow's plans floated up. This is what I call a "hit night." Running into a shop like this in Kobe doesn't happen all that often.
Using a soapland in Kobe
The soapland (soapland) genre is a fundamentally different experience from delivery health or hotel health. Kobe's soapland district carries its own local culture and history. One of Kansai's premier pleasure districts, centered on Motomachi and Sannomiya.
This was my first time at Episode ACE. At ¥22,000, the price is about average for a soapland in this area, I'd say.
About the girl
When choosing a girl at a soapland, what I weigh most is whether you can see "pride in the work." Whether someone's phoning it in shows in the first five minutes. On that count, the girl at Episode ACE put me at ease.
Careful, plenty of check-ins, reading my state as she decided how to proceed.
Verdict on Episode ACE
Fukuhara Yanagisuji area, open 7:00–23:30. The choice of 60 minutes for ¥22,000 matched the value of the night.
