NOA (Sendai, Delivery Health) — A Field Report

A field report on NOA (Sendai) and its 100-minute course at ¥5,000. I rate the girl, the service, and the value off my own visit.

ElonA shop's "character" shows in how its web page is written, too. NOA's page has no overblown self-praise, and that's exactly what made it trustworthy.

A weekend in Sendai has a slightly different air than a weekday. The biggest city in the Tohoku region. Kokubuncho is the famous entertainment district. This Saturday night, I picked NOA. How I use my one night a week for myself is something my thinking on has shifted as I've gotten older.

A 100-minute course, ¥5,000. Open 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Aoba Ward, the Kokubuncho area.

Looking back the next morning

After a good experience, the next morning often holds the details sharp. Over breakfast at the hotel, I looked back a little on last night's 100 minutes at NOA.

The way the girl talked, the way she moved, the way she used the time — specific scenes came back to me. The one that stuck most was "the shift in the second half." She'd remembered the moments I responded to in the first half, and in the second half she came back to them. That I still remembered this the next morning is a measure of how deep the impression ran.

Some experiences stay with you into the next morning, and some fade by the same night. What makes the difference, I believe, is less technique than "whether the emotion moved." Even a technically flawless experience fades by morning if the emotion didn't move. Tonight was an experience where the emotion moved.

That I'd run into a shop of this caliber in Sendai was something I could honestly call myself glad of the next morning. When you can have a night like this on a work trip, your impression of that region changes too. Sendai became an area I want to come back to. If there's another trip out here, I plan to call NOA. That, in full, is "the reason to repeat."

¥5,000 for 100 minutes. If you still think "I want to come back" the next morning, that's the highest rating there is. NOA cleared that bar. Nineteen years involved in this industry, and experiences that stay with you into the next morning aren't many. Tonight became one of those rare nights.

I'll write it straight: I missed a little this time

The experience at NOA was, on the whole, above standard. But there was a part that didn't completely match my expectations.

The girl's technique was fine. The service flow was tidy. To name the part that missed concretely: it was the "warmth." She was polite, but somewhere a sense of "processing the job" crept in.

Analyzing why it missed

This may not be NOA's problem so much as my own ordering problem. I should have made my order for "a warm girl" more specific.

¥5,000 for 100 minutes. NOA.

Why I'd still choose it

The shop's own quality is high. The desk was polite, the arrival was on time, the girl's technique was above average. When I said it "missed," I'm talking about the slightest gap. Next time I come here, I'll make my order more carefully. That's all it is. Aoba Ward, the Kokubuncho area, open 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.

ElonNineteen years in, I've learned one thing. A "good shop" isn't one where a single girl stands head and shoulders above the rest — it's one where multiple girls hold a steady level.

The verdict

The combination of the city of Sendai and NOA became, in my book, "the right answer."
