Sendai's fuzoku culture has something distinctly its own, a little different from Tokyo or Osaka. The biggest city in the Tohoku region. Kokubuncho is the famous entertainment district. In that area, Bichijo Newhalf Oneesan Club Kiwami has kept operating for a long time, and dig into it and you can tell it's a shop rooted in the community.
What I picked this time was the 120-minute course, ¥29,000. Open 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Aoba Ward, Kokubuncho.
On going quiet
Lately there's little time when my head goes quiet. The line between work and private life has thinned, and wherever I am, something stays lodged in a corner of my mind. At 37 that's become the default, and I've come to understand the value of "going quiet."
Over the 120 minutes at Bichijo Newhalf Oneesan Club Kiwami, my head went quiet.
For the first ten minutes or so, the thinking was still coming. Last week's work, tomorrow's schedule, emails I hadn't replied to. But as if pulled along by the girl's pace, the thoughts gradually went quiet. Girls who can do this on purpose are few. It's less a matter of technique than something closer to "the power to build the room."
"The power to build the room" is hard to explain, but it's the power to create a "quiet time" within that space. Tonight's girl had it. It wasn't that I actively did anything — I went quiet naturally.
By the time we got to the second half, even the reason I'd come to Sendai wasn't in my head. This kind of "complete switch-over" can't be built on technique alone. It only happens when the room, the girl, and your own state all come together. Fifteen years in this industry, and nights where I can hold that feeling are limited.
When I stepped outside afterward, the Sendai night air felt better than I'd expected. I walked for a while. Head still quiet, I went back to the hotel. ¥29,000 for 120 minutes — this "quiet," I believe, carries over into the quality of the next day's work too.
Why I repeat
This was my third visit to Bichijo Newhalf Oneesan Club Kiwami. The reason I repeat is simple: it "doesn't miss." There may be no upside surprise, but there's no downside either. That steadiness is, I think, the single most important factor over a long relationship.
This time too, the 120-minute course at ¥29,000. Bichijo Newhalf Oneesan Club Kiwami.
This time's girl
This time was a different girl than before. The shop has a nomination system (requesting a specific girl), but I deliberately asked for a different one. I wanted to check whether the shop's "standard" hinges on a single girl, or whether multiple girls work at the same level.
The result: both were at the same level. That's the condition for a "shop you can repeat."
A fixed point in Sendai
A routine is forming where I call Bichijo Newhalf Oneesan Club Kiwami every time I come to Sendai. Aoba Ward, the Kokubuncho area, open 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. This is a compliment.
