Aimable Yoshiwara on a Wednesday: A New Yorker Reads the Live Board Instead of the Price List

A midweek read of Aimable's (エマーブル) live board in Yoshiwara: who was open at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, who was already sold out by noon, the three newcomers, the ¥1,000 review discount and how the Heaven points really work, from a New Yorker who plans a soapland trip the way he plans a Knicks ticket.

Aimable Yoshiwara on a Wednesday: A New Yorker Reads the Live Board Instead of the Price List
Elon
ElonLast time I covered Aimable (エマーブル), I did the math on the price list. This time I ignored the prices and watched the live board for one Wednesday, October 7: who was free, who was gone before lunch, and what the timing tells you about getting in. Short version: at this house, the clock matters more than the coupon.

In New York you learn early that the price on the ticket is the easy part. The hard part is getting a seat. Knicks at the Garden, a table at the place everybody's posting about, the 8:15 at the comedy cellar. The listed price means nothing if the seat's already gone.

So on a Wednesday, I left Aimable's menu alone and spent the day refreshing the board.

What a Yoshiwara "board" actually is

Every soapland with a website keeps two schedules. One is the weekly schedule (週間出勤予定), the plan for who is coming in and when. The other is the today list (本日の出勤キャスト), and that's the one that matters. It shows the women working today and, next to each name, either the time she can still take you or a polite "we're full, thank you" line.

Aimable posts both: the official site at aimable.tokyo and its Cityheaven page. They don't always say the same thing at the same moment, so I kept both open.

Wednesday, around lunchtime

Here's what the official site's today list said around noon:

  • えりか (Erika, 23): available 13:00 to 18:00. Cityheaven had her as 待機中 (on standby, free right now) from 13:00, and pushed her in its "play right now" box.
  • こゆき (Koyuki, 21): available for a 100-minute slot at 14:00, or anywhere from 18:00 to 21:00.
  • まりな (Marina, 22): one opening, 15:00.
  • マリア (Maria, 23): ご予約一杯です, fully booked. She's marked as a Gold Course cast member, 120 minutes, ¥67,000.
  • 杉崎かのん (Kanon Sugisaki, 21) and みう (Miu, 22): fully booked too.

Six names on the official list, three of them already sold out by midday on a Wednesday. That isn't a Saturday-night number. That's a lunch rush.

Cityheaven's girl list agreed: 受付終了 (closed for the day) next to Maria and Kanon, 次回14:00~ next to Koyuki and 次回15:00~ next to Marina. When two sites tell the same story, I believe it. But one opening can still vanish between refreshes, so call 03-5808-9604 before you get on the train.

Who sells out, and why it's predictable

Aimable's Cityheaven roster lists 44 women, all 20 to 23. The review counts tell you who the regulars fight over:

  • 北川ひとみ (Hitomi Kitagawa): 34 reviews
  • 高島あすか (Asuka Takashima): 30
  • こゆき (Koyuki): 28
  • 今田かなこ (Kanako Imada) and ひまわり (Himawari): 24 each
  • 中村しずか (Shizuka Nakamura): 23

Koyuki is the interesting one. She's the most-reviewed woman who was actually working on Wednesday, and at noon she still had openings. The weekly schedule has her in on most days this week, usually 12:00 to 23:00. A long shift like that is your friend. It means more slots, and they don't all go at once.

The newcomers

The 新人 (newcomer) list is where a first-timer can get lucky, because these women don't have a following yet. Aimable had three listed:

  • りこ (Riko, 22): started October 4. The official site bills her as a working nurse and leads its top page with her debut.
  • 安西めるる (Meruru Anzai, 21): started September 17, described as a vocational-school student.
  • しおり (Shiori, 21): new, with no reviews yet.

The official site had Meruru and Shiori both down as 明日出勤, in tomorrow. Riko already has 11:00 to 23:00 shifts on the weekly schedule. If you want a newcomer, look at that weekly view, not the today list. Their dates come up there first.

The booking window is the real game

The official system page sets the rules: new customers can book from 21:00 the night before, or from 9:00 the same day. Members can book a week ahead from 9:00.

Cityheaven adds a wrinkle. Since March, the shop has run a 先行予約 (advance booking) feature on the Heaven site that opens every cast member up to seven days ahead, counting today. Two catches, in the shop's own words. Every web booking starts as a 仮予約, a provisional hold, and only becomes real once the shop reaches you by phone. And the advance booking "comes with a separate additional fee." The same notice also says bookings within seven days stay at the regular price, and I couldn't square those two lines. If you use it, ask what the extra charge is before you confirm.

So for an outsider, the honest playbook looks like this:

  1. The night before, at 9 p.m.: book if you've already picked a name. Busy women get booked first.
  2. The same morning: check the today list after 9:00 and take whatever opening fits.
  3. Keep your phone on. A web booking isn't real until they call you.

Two small discounts nobody talks about

The review discount. Post a review on Cityheaven after your visit, and the shop issues a code in your My Heaven account. It's good for ¥1,000 off the total next time, entered during web booking or shown at the counter. It can't be combined with other discounts.

Heaven points. Book through Cityheaven's web booking and you get 1,000 points a visit, whatever the course length. A point is ¥1 at the counter, used in 1,000-point blocks, up to 5,000 at once, and not alongside any other deal. Points saved this way don't go on the shop's own member card, so pick one system and stick with it.

Neither is going to change your night. But if you were coming back anyway, ¥1,000 is ¥1,000.

How I'd play a Wednesday here

The shop describes itself on Cityheaven as "the original mid-range soapland" and a hidden-gem shop on a back street. It admits it has fewer women than its rivals and says it makes up for it on quality. The board backs that up. A house with fewer women sells out sooner, so the timing matters more than at a big operation.

If I had one weekday afternoon in Asakusa, I'd watch the today list after 9:00, go for a long-shift name like Koyuki at the first open slot, and get picked up at one of the four points the shop now uses: Minowa, Minami-Senju, Tawaramachi or Asakusa. I didn't see a notice turning away overseas customers, and the shop lists itself on Yoasobi Heaven, Cityheaven's English-language site.

The menu tells you what it costs. The board tells you whether you're getting in. At Aimable, read the board.

Elon
ElonBoard notes for Aimable: on a plain Wednesday, half the today list was sold out by noon. New customers can book from 21:00 the night before or 9:00 on the day, and a web booking only counts once the shop calls you back. Look for long-shift women and the newcomers (りこ, 安西めるる, しおり) on the weekly schedule. Before you use Cityheaven's 7-day advance booking, ask about the extra fee.
