Field Diary Kyoto Hotel Health Canx2 Jogakuin Kyoto

A Kyoto Night at Canx2 Jogakuin Kyoto

When I was hunting for a good hotel health spot in Kyoto, I landed on Canx2 Jogakuin Kyoto. A frank record of a 100-minute experience.

ElonThe gap between a shop whose reception "can answer your questions" and one that "just reads off a script" starts before the session even begins.

I called a little after 9 p.m. When I think, "a good hotel health (hoteheru — service where the girl meets you at a love hotel) in Kyoto," my style is to call first. I figure the reception settles 80 percent of it.

The phone manner at Canx2 Jogakuin Kyoto was composed from the very first word. I booked the 100-minute course and paid ¥5,000. Open 9:00–3:00, covering the southern Kyoto and Fushimi area.

Late Night in Kyoto

The reason for using hotel health late at night changes with the night. Tonight was a "can't-sleep night." I was lying in the hotel room staring at the ceiling, and before the date changed I called Canx2 Jogakuin Kyoto.

When I asked, "Is it okay to come now?" they answered calmly, "We're open 9:00–3:00." A shop whose reception tone doesn't change even in the dead of night is proof the operation is squared away. You don't get treated carelessly just because it's a midnight call — that sounds obvious, but it really isn't.

The girl arrived a little after midnight. I'd half expected her to be tired, but there was no sign of it. For the late-night slot, there are people suited to the late-night slot. Behind the face of the ancient capital, there's a nightlife all its own around Kiyamachi and Gion. A shop that runs late-night hours in an area like this is operated with an understanding of the after-hours clientele.

A late-night 100 minutes feels a little different from a daytime 100 minutes. No rushing. Unhurried. She moved at my pace. What I'm looking for on a sleepless night was right there. She understood the late-night mood too, and didn't try to force the energy up. That sense of "knowing when to hold back" was good.

When I stepped out after the 100 minutes, the city of Kyoto was still moving. A town with people out even late at night is one where you feel less alone. Back at the hotel, I lay down and fell asleep right away. ¥5,000 for 100 minutes — I consider the price to include the "night I could finally sleep" that it created.

On the "Density" of Time

A hundred minutes feels like an entirely different length depending on its density. There's a 100 minutes that feels too fast, a 100 minutes that feels just right, and a 100 minutes that feels too short. Canx2 Jogakuin Kyoto was the third — that is, when it ended I thought, "I wanted to stay a little longer."

I mean that as a compliment.

Time with the Girl

Kyoto hotel health, ¥5,000. If I had to sum up 100 minutes at this price point in one line, it comes down to: "the density of the time was high."

More than the technical fine points, the "sense of really being there together" held the whole time. There aren't many girls who can create that.

If I Come Again

Canx2 Jogakuin Kyoto has a nomination system (requesting a specific girl — confirm by phone). Next time I'd like to repeat by nomination. Southern Kyoto / Fushimi area, open 9:00–3:00.

ElonThe basic premise is to understand how the business model works before you use it. If you call with a grasp of what hotel health actually is, the precision of your order goes up too.
