Kobe on the weekend has a slightly different air than on a weekday. It's one of Kansai's premier nightlife districts, centered on Motomachi and Sannomiya. On this Saturday night, I went with Candy Smile. How to spend a once-a-week stretch of time for myself — my thinking on that has shifted with age.
The 105-minute course, ¥30,800. Open 12:00 to 3:00. Himeji area.
Looking Back the Next Morning
The morning after a good experience, the details tend to stay sharp. Over breakfast at the hotel, I ran back through the 105 minutes at Candy Smile the night before.
How she talked, how she moved, how she used the time — I could call up specific moments. What stuck most was "the shift in the back half." She remembered the moments I'd reacted to in the first half and came back around to them later. Still remembering all this the next morning means the impression ran that deep.
There are experiences that stay in memory until the next morning, and ones that fade by the night of. What makes that difference, I think, is less about technique and more about whether emotion got moved. Even a technically flawless session fades by morning if nothing emotional moved. Tonight was an experience that moved something.
The next morning, I could honestly call it "good" that I'd found a shop of this caliber in Kobe. When you can have a night like this on a work trip, it changes your impression of the whole region. Kobe became an area I want to come back to. If there's another business trip, I plan to call Candy Smile. That's the entire "reason to repeat."
¥30,800 for 105 minutes. If you still think "I want to come back" the next morning, that's the highest rating there is. Candy Smile cleared that bar. Fourteen years in this industry, and experiences that stay with you until the next morning aren't all that common. Tonight became one of those rare nights.
I'll Be Honest: This Time I Missed a Little
The experience at Candy Smile was above standard overall. But there was a part that didn't fully line up with my expectations.
The girl's technique was no problem. The service flow was tight. To name the part that missed specifically, it was the "warmth." She was polite, but a faint "going through the motions" feeling came through.
Analyzing Why It Missed
This may not be Candy Smile's problem so much as my own ordering. I should have made the "a warm girl" request far more specific.
¥30,800 for 105 minutes. Candy Smile.
Why I'd Pick It Anyway
The shop's own quality is high. The desk is polite, the arrival was on time, the girl's technique was above average. When I said I "missed," I'm talking about just a slight gap. Next time I come here, I'll make my order more carefully. That's all it is. Himeji area, open 12:00 to 3:00.
The Bottom Line

The combination of the city of Kobe and Candy Smile became a "right answer" in my book.
