Field Diary Tokyo Other Alegria

An Honest Take on Alegria (Tokyo)

Alegria is a name that comes up a lot in Tokyo's health (delivery health-style) scene. I actually ran the 40-minute course and put down my honest thoughts.

An Honest Take on Alegria (Tokyo)
Elon
ElonWhen you think about value for money in Tokyo, the right move isn't to compare it against central Tokyo — it's to measure it against the local standard for that area. By the local yardstick, Alegria scores high.

It had been six months since I'd last come to Tokyo. Making a regular habit of heading out to areas beyond central Tokyo is something that's only happened in the last few years of my 17-year run. The local flavor of each area has started to fascinate me.

I picked Alegria. The 40-minute course runs ¥8,000. North/West Ikebukuro area, hours to be confirmed.

On the matter of 40 minutes

Time feels different depending on the situation. A boring 40 minutes drags; a rich 40 minutes flies. Everyone knows this, but after 17 years in this business, the "density of time" becomes one of the key axes I use to judge.

The 40 minutes at Alegria felt short. "You lose track of time" is a worn-out phrase, but tonight was close to exactly that. By the end, I had that "I wish I could've stayed a little longer" feeling. To me, that's the highest compliment.

High-density time has a common thread: the girl is "watching your state." She isn't executing a manual — she's constantly reading what this person wants right now and moving accordingly. The girl at Alegria could do that.

Across the opening, the middle, and the close, the mood shifted naturally. Instead of running at one fixed tempo, it sped up and slowed down in response to my reactions. That "living, breathing flow of time" only happens when high skill meets deep experience. Without me saying a word, she read my state and changed the arc.

Now that I'm 39, one of the standards I use to judge "money well spent" is: do I regret it afterward? I paid ¥8,000 tonight and spent 40 minutes — zero regret. If anything, I wish I'd come sooner. A night that produces that feeling isn't common, even across 17 years.

A business trip by another name: an expedition

I started coming to Tokyo on business out of necessity, but by now scouting the adult scene has become one of the pleasures of the trip. It's close to the feeling of understanding each region's culture through the body.

You can check Alegria here. North/West Ikebukuro area, hours to be confirmed. The 40-minute course is ¥8,000.

On regional differences

I'll say plainly what those 40 minutes in Tokyo made me feel. Compared to central Tokyo, the "warmth" of the service ran higher. Relaxed, no sense of being rushed. That's hard to come by in the big urban core.

The "ease" you find out in the regions was more comforting than I'd remembered.

Next Tokyo trip too

If I get another business trip, I plan to call Alegria again. ¥8,000, 40 minutes. That's value the logic of the metropolis can't measure.

ElonA shop where the photos match the real thing is a well-run shop. That comes down not just to the quality of the girl but to the shop's policy too.
